The Bandit9 company, known for its non-standard, original motorcycles with an unusual design, announced the release of a new model – Supermarine. In the design of the previous model Eve MK II, the young Vietnamese company used elements of the 1967 Honda Supersport motorcycle. The new Supermarine Motorbike is stripped of retro design elements and gets a futuristic look for the vehicle of the future with the highest aerodynamic properties.
The Supermarine name is borrowed from the British manufacturer Spitfire, which helped the UK win the Battle of Britain in World War II. The high speed and maneuverability of the motorcycle is provided by the 8-valve Triumph Twin liquid-cooled engine with a volume of 900 or 1200 cubic centimeters.
For an engine with a volume of 900 cubic centimeters, the power is 74.1 hp (at 7200 rpm), the torque reaches 80 Nm (at 3800 rpm), and the maximum speed can be 193 km/h. A modification of the engine with 1200 rpm has power indicators at the level of 103 hp. (at 7250 rpm), the torque at 4250 rpm is 113 Nm, and the top speed will be 210 km/h. The manufacturer does not advertise the Supermarine’s acceleration time to 100 km/h, but reports that the fuel consumption is 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers. And the emission standards comply with the Euro-5 standard.
The chassis of the Supermarine motorcycle uses 7075 aluminum alloy with high mechanical parameters of impact strength and toughness. The chassis is enclosed by a streamlined body made of either ABS plastic or carbon fiber (customer’s choice). Moreover, the body has a streamlined shape with excellent aerodynamic properties and is shaped like the ideal body of a stingray. However, the basic version of the Supermarine has a mass of 216 kg, and the modified version weighs 190 kg.
Also, Bandit9 manufacturers note that the Supermarine model uses a stainless steel or titanium exhaust system (on request), Nitron suspension with the possibility of upgrading to Ohlins, 4-piston Brembo brakes (with the possibility of upgrading to 6-piston Beringer Aerotec brakes) and a customizable LED display.
Given that each Supermarine motorcycle is built to order based on the individual requirements of the buyer, Bandit9 does not disclose the price of the motorcycles and asks everyone to contact representatives of the company directly. The first Supermarine models will reach customers in December 2021.
