Founded by Australian skateboard surfer Dan Baldwin, Ungoverned launched an original vehicle called the Ungoverned Powerboard back in 2013, which was a hybrid of a tracked vehicle, an all-terrain vehicle, a skateboard, and a snowboard. The device worked on a four-stroke engine, but Baldwin’s top-priority plans included replacing the energy source with an electric battery.
After 8 years, Vendetta was launched on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform to ensure the release of original electric powerboards. The new vehicle is based on the Ungoverned Powerboard, replacing the engine with two electric motors located at the front and rear of the device. Movement in off-road conditions, on snow and rocky ground is provided by wide tracks with lugs. The Vendetta is controlled by tilting the user’s body.
Vendetta engine is powered by a replaceable Samsung Li-ion battery. It is 100% waterproof and fully splashproof. The quick-release interchangeable front block can be replaced with paired skis or a single board for riding on snow. One battery charge is enough to travel for 40 minutes at a speed of up to 25 km/h. The user’s weight is limited to 75 kg. It takes 8 hours to recharge the battery from a standard electrical outlet, but an optional quick charger can be purchased, which reduces the charge to 4 hours.
Vendetta electric powerboard weighs only 19.5 kg, which is significantly less than the 45 kg original Ungoverned Powerboard with internal combustion engines. The Vendetta will be priced at around $5,100. Another $1,200 is the fast charger.
