Royole has been secretly developing flexible display technology for the past 7 years. At CES 2019, it was presented officially to everyone interested in the novelty. The company is known to few people, but it has gone ahead of the leading market players.
Royole FlexPai is a flexible smartphone, equipped with a fresh Snapdragon 855 flagship chip, 6 or 8 GB RAM, 128 or 256 gigabytes of the built-in memory, and a 16+20 megapixel dual camera. The AMOLED-display gadget has a diagonal of 7.8 inches and can fold in half.
The journalists, who got acquainted with the smartphone in person, were impressed by the achievements of the little-known manufacturer. It was noted that to develop a decent interface of a folding smartphone is still very difficult. When applications run in the “half-display” mode, the second part of the screen remains completely blank.
Testing the software for the new item is not over yet. However, it is already offered for purchase.
