Separate Sound Zone Enables Car Passengers Listening to Different Music at Once

KIA is one of the largest automobile giants in South Korea. Recently, they developed the unique SSZ (Separated Sound Zone) technology. It creates a personal sound space for each passenger in a car. Headphones are not needed. It can help each of the four passengers listen to their own music and not interfere with others.

A lot of speakers of the Separated Sound Zone system are placed inside a car, projecting sound to certain seats. They are specially programmed for phase displacement and neutralization of sound waves coming from other speakers. Of course, the algorithms that make this effect possible are extremely complex.

At the same time, the noise reduction option does not prevent people from communicating with each other right in the salon. Moreover, the system provides additional privacy during a telephone conversation in a wireless mode. Besides, SSZ ensures that the driver will hear only warning sounds and navigation signals.
