Private Submarine Triton DeepView 24 Can Go Down to 100 Meters Deep

One of the main directions in the modern tourism industry is the development of “underwater tourism”, which provides an acquaintance with the underwater world of our planet. Triton Submarines from Florida became the leader in the production of tourist underwater vehicles. Last year, it launched a tourist route to the bottom of the Mariana Trench – the deepest place in the World Ocean (10.928 meters). The submarine used the Limiting Factor. This year, the company introduced one of the most significant commercial projects in the last two decades – the DeepView 24.

The new engineering masterpiece from Florida is the DeepView 24 tourist submarine, capable of receiving up to 24 passengers (plus two pilots) and providing them with the most comfortable experience with the ocean thanks to unique panoramic windows and air conditioning.

The DeepView 24 boat is made in the form of a cylindrical cigar and has 15.4 meters in length. The diameter of the cylindrical hull allows underwater tourists to straighten inside the boat to their full height. Huge panoramic windows, occupying almost the entire cylindrical surface of the body, are made of acrylic and have the thickness of 140 mm. The mass of the vessel is 55 tons.

For operational immersion and ascent, the vessel has the main and auxiliary ballast weighing 4 and 1.8 tons, respectively. The DeepView 24 underwater vehicle is powered by electric motors, which ensures silent swimming that does not harm the ecology of the underwater world. Two main engines have a power of 20 kW (27 hp), and four auxiliary Vertran electric motors have 12.6 kW (17 hp). Energy supply is provided by a lead battery with a capacity of 240 kWh, which will allow autonomous navigation at a speed of 5.5 km/h for 14 hours.

For a comfortable overview of the world around the submarine, ten lamps with a luminous flux of 20 thousand lumens each are installed. DeepView was designed by Triton Submarines, manufactured at the company’s factory in Barcelona and has already completed its first sea trials. The first tourist expedition will take DeepView down under the water near Hong Tre Island in Nya Chang (Vietnam) and will serve the tourist routes of the local Vinpearl elite resort operator.
