Pedals-Free E-Bike Concept Skoda Klement

Alternative vehicles are becoming increasingly important in modern cities overloaded with transport. Skoda developers have presented a conceptual model of a fundamentally new type of transportation, which is a mix between a bicycle and a scooter. Klement has received an unusual control system and does not have pedals typical of bicycles.

The control circuit of a vehicle with electric traction includes two footboards that increase the speed of movement, when tilted forward. There are no traditional brakes on the steering wheel. LED sensors and a special mount for the smartphone are installed there, providing the information about the battery charge and speed in the relevant application.

The heart of Klement is a 5.4 hp electric engine. The maximum speed is 45 km/h. Replaceable lithium-ion batteries (2 pcs. with a capacity of 1.25 kWh each) will provide a travel radius of up to 62 km. The weight of the Klement electric bike is about 25 kg.

The original control system will require studying and getting used to, but the compact size, high speed and radius of the trip, as well as virtually no physical load on the user makes the Klement vehicle ideal for modern cities.
