Most Compact, Lightweight, and Foldable E-Scooter Blizwheel

A few years ago, the Blizwheel startup introduced ESkates roller skates that transform to shoebox sizes. The company is now launching on Kickstarter a folding-to-box electric scooter from the Eskates family, e-scooter Blizwheel.

The developers have created two versions of the transformer scooter: basic and Pro modification. The standard Blizwheel scooter has two electric motors (one for each wheel) with a power of 0.2 kW. The speed of the base model is 20 km/h with an autonomous run radius of 13 km on a single battery charge. The Blizwheel Pro modification gets two 0.3 kW engines, and the autonomous mileage increases to 24 km.

The main feature of Blizwheel is the ability to fold the scooter to the size of a small box with dimensions of 396×162.5×99 mm. As a result, the assembled scooter can be easily placed in a briefcase, suitcase or backpack. The base model weighs 3.9 kg, while the Blizwheel Pro version weighs about 5.4 kg. The small handle makes it easy to carry the assembled scooter as a separate piece of luggage. By folding the device, the Blizwheel can be partially transported like a cane, resting on the front wheel.

The scooter frame is made of ultra-light and durable aircraft-grade aluminum. The wheels are small in diameter but relatively wide to provide stability. The ground clearance (58 mm for the base model and 82 mm for the Pro version) in combination with a special polyurethane suspension will ensure movement on roads with slight irregularities.

The telescopic steering column has a small display in the upper part, which shows the most relevant information about the distance traveled, battery charge and speed. Braking is provided by both motors and built-in mechanical brakes. The lighting is realized with the help of the front and rear headlights. Rotary light signals are also provided.

The Blizwheel electric scooter project on Kickstarter calls for a $300 base model order and the Blizwheel Pro is priced at $490. A special modification of the Blizwheel for transportation on airplanes costs $480. The first transformer scooters will reach the consumer in May 2022. Even before the end of the Kickstarter fundraising campaign, the project had already raised the required amount.
