Huawei has presented a new high-tech product designed for fans of the increasingly popular cycling sport. The new Helmetphone BH51M Neo Smart Helmet is also suitable for rollerblading, skateboarding and other mobile urban transport.
The smart helmet runs on Huawei’s proprietary HarmonyOS operating system, which supports voice calls via Bluetooth. The process of connecting a smartphone to a smart helmet is carried out in one touch.
By pairing Helmetphone BH51M with a smartphone, the user will be able to check the battery status of the smart helmet, make emergency calls and adjust the signal lights. A stereo speaker built into the helmet and working via Bluetooth will provide listening to audio files and talking on the phone in the hands-free mode.
The Helmetphone BH51M bicycle helmet not only protects the user’s head in case of falling, but also provides it with LED warning lights at the front and rear. The LED backlight works with a built-in gravitational acceleration sensor that senses deceleration. As a result, the LED lights up when the user brakes.
The sensors also detect when the user makes a turn and switch on the corresponding LED backlight. As a result, Huawei’s smart product provides bikers with a safer city ride. The smart helmet is currently available in China via Huawei VMall for the price of 799 Yuan (about $125).
