The market of luxury electric hypercars (supercars) is currently dominated by the European company Rimac (Croatia), whose shareholder is Porsche and partners include Renault, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Hyundai and Kia. However, the Californian company Elation Hypercars seeks to deprive the Croats of the monopoly and brings to the market a conceptual model of the electric Elation Freedom hypercar.
The body of the new electric car is made of carbon fiber, which reduces the weight of the hypercar to 1650 kg. This is an excellent indicator for an electric vehicle equipped with heavy battery packs. Depending on the version, Elation Freedom will be supplied with three (the total power of 1040 kW, or 1427 hp) or four electric motors (the total power of 1400 kW, or 1903 hp). Both modifications are all-wheel drive, with the implementation of torque vectoring to redistribute power between the wheels.
The Elation Freedom hypercar is capable of reaching the top speed of 420 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds. The standard equipment includes a battery pack with a capacity of 100 kWh, which provides an autonomous travel radius of up to 480 km. With a modified unit and a capacity of 120 kWh, the range of independent travel increases to 640 km.
The design of the Elation Freedom hypercar was based on the developments used in the creation of racing sports cars. So the innovative suspension in combination with active aerodynamics will allow moving through corners with an acceleration of 2G. An effective and comfortable seating in the car is ensured by the use of gull-wing doors. The exclusivity of the cars is underlined by the individual trim of the two-seater’s interior, which uses genuine leather, carbon fiber, precious stones and stainless steel.
The Californians did not leave the fans of internal combustion engines unattended, presenting the Elation Freedom Iconic Collection model with a V10 petrol engine (5.2 liters and 750 hp). At the same time, the absence of a battery pack made it possible to reduce the weight of the car to 1300 kg.
Fans of hypercars will have to pay at least 2 million dollars for the Elation Freedom model with an electric motor, and the gasoline model Elation Freedom Iconic Collection can be purchased for 2.3 million US dollars. Elation Hypercars are currently available for pre-order. So, who’s first?
