Harley-Davidson is a US-based motorcycle manufacturer that needs no introduction. At the EICMA 2018 motor show in Milan, the company showed its first electric motorcycle, LiveWire. The model is similar to the prototype, presented 4 years ago.
The manufacturer unveiled some information about the new product: LiveWire will receive an absolutely adjustable Showa suspension and at least 7 driving modes. The novelty is expected to be equipped no worse than the leading Japanese sports bikes. The electric motor will have its own audio system, producing sound in accordance with acceleration and speed. Showa will provide 2 lithium-ion batteries enclosed in the aluminum case. A 12 volt battery will power the lighting system and the horn, and the other battery will be responsible for mileage. LiveWire uses Brembo Monoblock brake pads with two discs, 300 mm in diameter.
One can connect to the electric motorcycle via Bluetooth: music playback and navigation will become even more convenient. The steering wheel includes a touch display with all the necessary information. The battery can be charged from a home outlet. If desired, a special charging station can be purchased from dealers.
Experts believe that Harley-Davidson focuses on modern electric vehicles because it is going through hard times. However, the manufacturer will have to fight for the client. Nowadays, the market presents an incredible variety of electric motorcycle models for every taste.
The new model will be announced next year, however, the exact date of the event is not named. Later, the legendary company will release a whole series of electric bikes, LiveWire being the flagship model.
