Xiaomi has expanded the range of its “smart” devices with a washing machine that has the option of drying. Mijia Internet Washing and Drying Machine will soon be sold in China.
The novelty can wash up to 10 kilograms of linen. If the drying mode is used, the maximum load reaches 6 kilograms. The device is based on BLDC, an energy-efficient, and quiet brushless motor. The drum can rotate at the speed of up to 1,400 revolutions per minute. The device has a higher A+ efficiency class of washing. No shaking and vibrations appear during spinning thanks to the suspension system with shock absorbers and springs. The device independently selects the appropriate amount of water so that there is no excess foam.
There are 21 programs, including the accelerated 1-hour washing and drying program. There are additional options, like turning off beep signals. There is a special mode for saving the volume of plush toys and down jackets. The streaming technology will smooth out all the folds. The settings are set via the smartphone application or on the touch panel.
In order to destroy almost all bacteria that cause an unpleasant odor, the manufacturer advises running a self-cleaning program at 95 degrees Celsius after every forty washes.
For its first customers, Xiaomi Mijia Internet Washing and Drying Machine will cost 1,999 yuan, or about $290. One can order it from January 4 next year. The standard price of this model is 2,499 yuan, or about $365. It is significantly cheaper than the top models from Korea.
