Sharp has demonstrated the world’s first moisture-proof and dust-proof (according to industry certification IPX5, IPX7, IP5X) Mebius Pad tablet computer run on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 operating system. The new product, being thin and light, is equipped with IGZO-display with a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels. IGZO technology, developed by Sharp, has interesting characteristics, very cautious attitude to energy consumption being the main one.
The functioning of Mebius Pad depends on the quad-core Intel Atom Z3370 Bay Trail-T with a capacity exceeding the speed of Core 2 Duo.
Autonomy is not specified, but it will definitely be comparable to that of ARM- tablets.
Other characteristics include: front and back cameras, optional LTE-communication, stylus, and keyboard cover.
The appearance of Sharp Mebius Pad on sale is scheduled for early 2014.
