Urine to Power up Mobile Phones

British scientists have made a discovery. The researchers from the University of Bristol, particularly Dr. Ioannis Ieropoulos, a specialist in energy generation from unusual sources at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, developed the technology of the powering up mobile phones with urine.

The technology uses the energy from microorganisms, microbial fuel cells (MFC), converting organic substances into electricity through metabolism of the microorganisms found in human waste, particularly – urine.

The use of waste as a source of energy is very eco-friendly. Imagine a world where we power up not only mobile phones but also our homes with urine. Fantastic.
