Lenovo Yoga Book C930 Has a Second Screen Instead of the Keyboard

Lenovo sells the laptop without the conventional keyboard again. Lenovo Yoga Book C930 suggests entering text and other information through an additional screen based on electronic ink, but does it work well enough?

The new product followed the Yoga Book released two years ago. That netbook used to have a touch keyboard. The screen in the new model is replaced with the E Ink version. According to representatives of Lenovo, the company did a great job to improve the sense of entering through a smooth surface of the screen.

Although electronic screens are known as not very fast and responsive when entering characters, Yoga Book C930 is an exception. The keys are recognized immediately and type the desired symbols. Due to minor vibrations, it seems that the user actually presses buttons. As a result, the sense of printing is not much different from a similar process on a modern laptop.

Yoga Book C930 allows the user to set different keyboard styles. The black version is especially good, because it has the animation when you press the keys. The screen with electronic ink is very pleasant for reading long texts and books, and the device can be folded into a tablet.

The display can also be used for sketches or notes with the help of Wacom Precision Pen, which differentiates between 4096 pressure levels. The fact that the netbook can convert handwriting to text on the screen is another useful feature. Besides, the additional panel serves as a replacement for the touchpad. By the way, the lid of the laptop can open automatically after double tapping on it.

The notebook is very user-friendly thanks to the basic 10.8-inch touch screen IPS-display with a resolution of QHD 2K (2560×1600 pixels). The size of the E Ink screen is the same, but the format is FullHD (1920×1080 pixels). In addition, the device is available with various 7th-generation Intel Core processors, namely with Intel m3-7Y30 or Core i5-7Y54. However, Yoga Book C930 has only 4 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal memory. According to Lenovo, the battery will provide the gadget with up to 8.6 hours of performance. Yoga Book has a fingerprint scanner, a 2MP camera, two USB 3.1 Type C ports, a Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless adapter, Bluetooth 4.2, and – optionally – a 3G / 4G modem.

A hybrid transformer notebook runs on Windows OS 10. The dimensions of the new product are 260.4х179.44х9.9 mm, and its weight is only 775 grams.

Overall, the notebook is not the most powerful and seems to be designed for simple tasks. Its price starts at $999. The digital Precision Pen will need to be purchased separately.
