The English manufacturer KKL introduced its electric folding bike Gocycle GX, which can be folded and removed in just 10 seconds. This makes it particularly suitable, for example, for commuting to work and then placing a two-wheeled friend in an office corner, where it will not occupy much space.
The Gocycle GX weighs 17.8 kg and has two 20-inch wheels. They touch the ground even when folded, so the e-bike can be pushed or dragged. For safe standing, the folding bike has a folding stand on two legs.
With a 250-watt engine built into the front wheel, the electric bike can reach the speeds of up to 30 km/h. The lithium-ion battery at 13.7 Ah is housed in a frame and is enough for a journey of up to 65 km. It can be easily removed for charging, which takes about 7 hours. The battery charge is checked using the display on the steering wheel or in the companion application. Besides, there is a 3-speed Shimano Nexus gearbox and hydraulic brakes on the front and rear wheels. The existing Lockshock rear suspension makes it easier to climb through the curbs and minimizes shaking of Gocycle GX on a bumpy road.
Very high cost can be an obstacle on the way to buying the folding electric bike. A pre-ordered bike costs $3,300. The first orders must be delivered to customers in April 2019.
