BMW has announced two concept electric bikes i Vision AMBY and Motorrad Vision AMBY featuring high-speed performance and a long distance on a single charge.
The new models are currently named BMW i Vision AMBY and BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY. Autonomous driving of the BMW i Vision AMBY is provided by a 2000 Wh battery, which guarantees up to 300 km of run. The model is equipped with pedals that are not available on the BMW Motorrad Vision e-bike.
The bike control system has three-speed modes: 25 km/h for bike lanes, 45 km/h for city traffic, and 60 km/h for highway driving. Modes are activated by geo-fences, which eliminates speeding in urban environments or when traveling on bike paths. The system of safe movement is also supported by the presence of a radar that detects the approach of foreign vehicles from behind the bike.
More information on the production models of BMW e-bikes will be published in the near future. The price for bicycles based on the BMW i Vision AMBY and BMW Motorrad Vision AMBY has not been disclosed yet.
