The Google Lens application based on the artificial intelligence technology allows you to use your smartphone camera for identifying objects from images (plants, animals, vehicles, clothing, etc.), barcode scanning, and getting detailed information about monuments or buildings. Now Google is adding new search functions.
When the application is opened, the camera‘s search mode is activated. When objects appear in the Google Lens‘ field of vision, you can learn more about them (the program itself will identify the object). If necessary, it is enough to manually draw a circle around the object of interest to get new details about it.
Google’s official blog explains that Google Lens, for example, will allow you, for example, to look for home or office design ideas. When a user sees a sofa that is perfect for his or her apartment, they only need to press the Lens button or draw a circle around the object. Then Google Images will display all the information available about the object you are looking for and indicate where you can buy such an item.
Google Lens is currently available for US owners of mobile gadgets running on Android Marshmallow OS or higher, but the application is expected to appear in other countries as well.
We hope that these opportunities will not only be used for commercial purposes like goods and services promotion.
