LDLC manufacturer from France presented the original Nemeio keyboard at the CES-2019 electronics exhibition. The new product is equipped with individually customizable display buttons based on electronic paper
The idea was developed quite a long time ago. However, the authors of Nemeio used e-paper rather than more obvious OLED-display technologies. Due to this, the consumption of energy spent at the moment of redrawing the characters has decreased significantly. Moreover, the readability of the image has improved.
The buttons can display a variety of layouts, as well as special icons that work with various applications: a spreadsheet processor, a graphics editor, and so on. The gadget was equipped with a Bluetooth adapter and USB Type-C and USB Type-A ports. So you can use it both wirelessly and via wires. In the first case, it will be powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
The buttons are configured using specially developed software. The keyboard dimensions are 304x179x11 mm. Nemeio is currently preparing to enter the commercial market. Most likely, it will be sold this year at the price of $300-500, which is quite expensive.
