The device is running on Silent OS and is based on Android with enhanced security features. Special software encrypts telephone calls, messages, and other data.
It also provides tools for protection when connected to Wi-Fi-networks and the Web. Blackphone 2 is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of Full HD (1920×1080 pixels), protective Gorilla Glass, an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal flash memory that can be expanded with microSD memory cards. The main digital camera has a 13-megapixel module, while the facing camera has a 5 megapixel module. The 3060 mAh battery is equipped with Quick Charge 2.0 that supports fast charging.
