The device is running on Silent OS and is based on Android with enhanced security features. Special software encrypts telephone calls, messages, and other data.

Blackphone 2 is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of Full HD (1920×1080 pixels), protective Gorilla Glass, an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal flash memory that can be expanded with microSD memory cards. The main digital camera has a 13-megapixel module, while the facing camera has a 5 megapixel module. The 3060 mAh battery is equipped with Quick Charge 2.0 that supports fast charging.
