World’s First Bi-Rotor Drone Dronut X1

The dimensions of Dronut X1 UAV allow the drone to land on the user’s palm. The donut-shaped drone has a diameter of only 17 cm, a body height of 10 cm and a mass of about 425 grams. The closed channel type rotor propeller system protects the user and the drone from damage during movement and collisions. Several built-in sensors, such as 3D LiDAR, a wide-angle 4K video camera with a 100-degree field of view, and some others, allow the drone to accurately position and create a 3D model of an unfamiliar room.

Released earlier in 2020, Dronut was designed for the military and security forces. The more compact and cheaper version of Dronut X1 is intended for retail and drone use for civilian missions. The main task of Dronut X1 is the study of unfamiliar confined spaces, the configuration of which can be dangerous (construction, geological exploration, technical control service).

Dronut X1 is controlled using an application on an Android smartphone. Data processing for monitoring flight parameters is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. The maximum flight speed of the drone is 4 m/s.

The device is capable of flying with a headwind force of up to 15 km/h, which allows the drone to be used when examining air ducts and ventilation systems. The flight radius is up to 1 km, the battery provides up to 12 minutes of autonomous flight. The price of the UAV Dronut X1 is $ 9,800.
