The second generation of ReMarkable 2 tablets is entering the market, and its main advantage is the small thickness and the ability to save recordings made in the classical way. Fans of pen and paper will be able to use the electronic device ReMarkable 2, almost completely simulating the notebooks of the previous century.
The small thickness of the device (4.7 mm), its compact dimensions (187 x 246 x 4.7 mm) and low weight (403.5 g) will allow you to easily carry the ReMarkable 2 tablet in your purse, backpack, or in your hands. Using the software allows you to easily convert various handwritten notes into printed text for further editing.
The ReMarkable2 tablet received a monochrome CANVAS screen with a diagonal of 10.3 inches and a resolution of 1872×1404 (226 dpi). The screen partially supports E Ink Carta technology. The screen sensitivity for data entry is 21 milliseconds. Neither charging nor pairing are required for the special passive-type stylus, supplied in the kit. At the same time, its tip is made of a material with a high coefficient of friction, which ensures high sensitivity when writing. It recognizes up to 4096 degrees of pressure on the display.
The hardware of ReMarkable2 runs on a 1.2 GHz dual-core ARM processor, 1 GB of LPDDR3 SDRAM, and 8 GB of main memory can accommodate up to 100 thousand pages.
The device has a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi module and a USB-C connector. The rechargeable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh provides up to 90 days of stand-alone operation in the standby mode and up to 14 days of performance when used for 2 hours a day. MyScript software will allow handwriting recognition and conversion of records to PDF and ePUB. Linux-based Codex operating system is optimized for e-paper. Special Google Chrome plugins allow you to read converted web documents without additional windows. The tablet will go on sale in June 2020 at the price of $399.
