Twin brothers Edoardo and Emiliano Parini have developed an interesting device. Get looks like a traditional fitness bracelet, but it is much more functional. It combines the options of several mobile gadgets under its shell: a headset, a fitness tracker, a smart watch and a player.
The main goal of the new technology is to ensure confidentiality of communication. The most interesting feature of the Get bracelet is the transmission of sounds using bone conductivity. Just put a finger to your ear and listen to an audio recording or a phone call. The sound will be transmitted by the bracelet to the tip of the finger through the carpal bones and will then go to the inner ear through the skull. The gadget is also suitable for listening to music. However, its quality will not be high enough in this case.
Other functions of the Get device are not so revolutionary. The bracelet can monitor its owner’s physical activity and quality of sleep. It also indicates the way, serves as a means of NFC payments and an alarm clock. Almost any of the popular voice assistants can be integrated into the device without any problems: Google Assistant, Siri Alexa or Cortana.
The gadget is devoid of buttons and a display. Gestures are used to work with it. One movement of the wrist is enough to receive an incoming call, and the other one will help you find out what time it is. Gestures can be customized by the user in the most convenient way. Get uses a fingerprint to identify the owner. Wireless charging for 60 minutes will provide up to 5 days of battery life.
This project has already been approved by many experts, and it has won several awards. The Parini brothers are planning to launch it on the commercial market. To do this, they began raising funds on the Kickstarter platform. The preordered gadget costs $124. It will be delivered since early spring next year.
