Without the unnecessary hype, Apple has announced via their official online store that they will abandon iPad Air 2 with a diagonal of 9.7 inches. Instead, the manufacturer will create the cheapest tablet in the company’s history, which is simply called iPad. The new device is a kind of improved version of the iPad Air 2 model.
The new product is equipped with a 9.7-inch Retina-screen with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels, A9 processor with the M9 coprocessor, 32 GB of internal memory, a fingerprint reader, a Wi-Fi module, the main 8-megapixel camera and a front 1.2-megapixel camera with the FaceTime function. The operating system will be represented by iOS 10.
The new iPad will be available in gray, silver and gold colors from March 24 at a price of $329 per model without LTE and $459 for gadgets with LTE.
In addition, Apple removed iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 4 with a built-in flash memory of 32 and 64 GB from its range of products. Instead, it added an iPad mini 4 with a 128 GB drive, which will be sold at the price of $399 for the version with Wi-Fi and $529 for the option with LTE.
