Xiaomi is expanding the capabilities of its fans and offers a new model of smart watches from the Youpin line, designed for the middle price segment. The smart watches presented on the Xiaomi proprietary crowdfunding platform are marked Youpin Forbidden City and are made in a round-shaped form factor.
The hardware of the new Youpin model runs on a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and has 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. The round-shaped monitor received an AMOLED matrix with a diagonal of 1.3 inches (360 by 360). Autonomous operation is ensured by a 400 mAh battery.
The case made of 316L stainless steel is only 12.7 mm thick, and the display is protected from damage by tempered glass. Genuine leather of Italian origin was used to manufacture the strap. The case received moisture protection according to the IP68 standard.
Smart watch Youpin Forbidden City runs on Google Wear OS, has an NFC module that enables contactless payments. Notifications are displayed on the screen. There is also a built-in AI assistant, and the function of monitoring the physical condition of the owner is supported. The navigation system supports Beidu, GLONASS, and GPS.
For Chinese users, the watch comes with downloaded applications WeChat, QQ, Keep and Netease Cloud Music. Watch deliveries to consumers are scheduled for January 31, 2020. The price for users who pre-ordered Youpin Forbidden City will be $185, and the device will go on sale at the price of $245.
