By constantly expanding the ecosystem of its products, Xiaomi continues to create interconnected products that help design the perfect smart home at an unusually low cost. Now the company has taken up the security of the house.
Xiaomi provides a sense of peace and relaxation due to smart electronic locks, similar to the one that was introduced last September – Xiaomi LOOCK Smart Lock Q2, which uses a PIN system with a numeric keypad embedded in the device and even reads fingerprints as an additional security system except connecting to a mobile device. The lock is supported by Xiaomi LOOCK CatY, a smart camera that is placed on the front door of the house, where a peephole usually stands. The device connects to the tablet, with which all the functions are configured. The camera is activated immediately when someone approaches the door.
The gadget is also equipped with a technology similar to Apple’s face ID. In fact, LOOCK CatY can not only recognize faces, but also tell the people’s age or gender, the clothes they wear, and other characteristics.
The camera with a viewing angle of 166º allows you to record video in 720p resolution, there is a night mode with infrared illumination, 4 GB of RAM for video storage, low resolution and limited internal space, compensated by the 8,400 mAh battery, which will allow you to use CatY for 2 months without recharging.
Xiaomi LOOCK CatY can operate in conjunction with the Q2 electronic lock, and both can be controlled from a smartphone. The novelty will go on sale in China on December 28, but it is not known whether it will be released on other markets. The cost of the device is $115.
