Scientists from Zurich University of the Arts developed a simulator allowing you to experience what it’s like to fly. The device was called Birdly, and it is a virtual reality system consisting of an Oculus Rift headset, a fan creating airflow for deeper dives, and a mobile platform, on which the user lies down.
The device is controlled by moving joysticks reminiscent of planes’ tails. Now the device is at testing stage. Its creators have to solve a set of tasks to improve comfort. However, even now, many people would like to experience the feeling of free flight, despite the possible nausea.
