A miniature projector, which the developers position as the thinnest in the world, will allow you to get high-quality images on almost any surface, projecting files from your iPhone or iPad. The compact BIJOU device can even be placed in a pocket, and the image can be viewed on any curved surface.
The tiny size of BIJOU enables the user to always have the device at hand. The user will be able to watch the video immediately after waking up and without getting out of bed, during hygiene procedures in the bathroom, while having breakfast in the kitchen or together with the whole family in the evening. This versatile device is available for use in almost any situation.
The developers have equipped BIJOU with a special MEMS scanner, which eliminates the need for focusing. Broadcasting is performed by lighting each pixel, which allows you to get a clear image on curved surfaces and even on wrinkled sheets. The device transmits the image, deviating by 14 degrees from its plane, which eliminates the need to tilt BIJOU.
When projecting the black color, BIJOU completely blocks the light in these areas, which will allow you to get a high-contrast image and save energy.
Managing and working with BIJOU does not require the installation of special applications. All you need to do is to connect the device to your iPhone or iPad. Its own speaker, which is much more powerful than the one installed in the iPhone, will broadcast the sound for you.
The performance of BIJOU is provided by a battery with the capacity of 1150 mAh. There are 3.5 mm jacks for speakers or headphones and USB-C for connection with a smartphone.
BIJOU is presented on Kickstarter, where it can be ordered for $299. With more than two weeks remaining before its completion, the project has already collected 1.5 times more money than the amount needed to launch the production of this projector. The first customers will receive the device in December.
