The developers of computer accessories are striving to simplify the users’ work and make it as convenient as possible in every possible way. Periodically, while working at the computer, the users find their hands busy, so controlling the cursor with a mouse becomes problematic. In this case, “smart” glasses from the GWD Bio Intelligence company can be helpful, allowing you to “control” the cursor in a non-contact way by means of head movements and blinking eyes.
HiiDii Glasses can be equipped with ordinary optical lenses or a special protective glass for working on a computer. The main “smart” filling is in the temples of the glasses. There is an accelerometer hidden there, which tracks the movement of the head and synchronizes it with the movement of the cursor. Meanwhile, blinking eyes are monitored by special sensors in the nose, which respond to the movement of the human skin, accompanying blinking. These sensors are responsible for clicking the mouse buttons.
According to the developer, fast natural blinks are not monitored by sensors. In order to perform a mouse click, the user must blink slowly. Communication between the smart glasses and the computer is via Bluetooth.
Double-clicking can be initiated by double blinking in one second. A faster wink includes the Hold function, which is necessary to select an object and drag it around the screen (using the simultaneous movement of the head). This will also enable recording a voice message in the messenger.
To work with the right mouse button, you should blink and perform no actions for 2 seconds. The letter “R” will then appear near the cursor, and you will have to blink again. According to the developers, the working distance between the glasses and the computer can reach up to 10 meters.
HiiDii Glasses work with both Windows and Mac computers, as well as Android tablets and smartphones. Autonomy of the performance is provided by the rechargeable battery through USB. One hour of charging is enough for battery life of up to 8 hours. You can disable HiiDii Glasses using the button located in the right arm.
HiiDii Glasses will go on sale in March 2020. When ordering on Kickstarter, you can purchase them for $69. In retail, the price of the glasses will go up to $189.
