The United States Army Soldier Systems Center has developed the concept of a new helmet for military units, which is being tested now. HEaDS-UP (Helmet Electronics and Display System-Upgradeable Protection) is a modular modification of the already used equipment.
The prototype is equipped with a face shield, a ballistic visor and a miniature display that can be connected to an Android-based smartphone. The software allows you to use the “live” designator, learn the location of the allies and opponents on the battlefield, and receive text messages with the commanders’ orders and video from unmanned reconnaissance aircraft, as well as an indication of the overall state of the battle. With features like this, a war becomes a game in which one can die.
