World’s Toughest Action Camera Casio G’z EYE GZE-1

Japanese Casio company claims to be working on a unique series of cameras that can shoot both on the ground and underwater. Protected devices for shooting extreme sports are available in the G’z EYE line. The first action camera from this series was called GZE-1. The novelty is produced in the company’s typical G-SHOCK style. Its body is able to survive falling from the height of up to four meters, diving in water up to fifty meters or a drop in temperature to ten degrees below zero Celsius. The gadget is protected against dust and water in accordance with the IP6X standard.

Casio GZE-1 EYE-01 action camera has a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with 6.9 megapixels and a wide viewing angle (170.4° for video and 190.8° for photos), a f/2.8 aperture, a 13 mm lens and a four-time digital zoom. It is capable of recording in the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at a rate of 30 frames per second and in the resolution of 640×480 pixels at 120 frames per second. According to the Casio company, the device will be able to continuously record Full HD video for 1 hour and 35 minutes if the battery is fully charged. The captured data can be stored on a microSD card. There are Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n wireless modules.

The camera is controlled remotely using a mobile gadget running on Android or iOS, PRO TREK Smart WSD-F20 watch or a control panel.

In Japan, Casio G’z EYE GZE-1 will cost about $413. The prices in other countries as well as the start date of the sales are still unknown.
