World’s First Wirelessly Chargeable Laptop Dell Latitude 7285

The Dell company has launched the world’s first hybrid tablet computer called Latitude 7285, which supports the wireless charging technology. The laptop can also be purchased in the basic configuration, without the additional option of wireless charging and a keyboard. In this case, the buyer will pay “only” $1,200.

The wireless charging option is available with a special detachable Wireless Charging Keyboard ($380) and a Charging Mat dock in the form of a mat ($200). This kit can be purchased for $550. If the user wants to buy a traditional keyboard with an extra battery, the purchase will cost $250.

The basic version of the transformer notebook is equipped with a 12.3-inch display Sharp IGZO 3K (2880×1920 pixels), an Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor (possibly with i7), 8 or 16 GB of RAM and a 128 GB drive (advanced models will have 256 and 512 GB). As for the ports, there are two USB Type-C / Thunderbolt 3 ports, a card reader, and a 3.5-mm audio connector. The device supports Wi-Fi (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.2, Miracast and WiGig. There is an 8-megapixel main camera and a front camera, which supports 720p-video and Windows Hello. The weight of the laptop is 675 grams, and the size is 273.2 x 208.5 x 7.8 mm. The operating system is Windows 10 Home.

Technically, charging is available through the fastened traditional keyboard, when it is installed on a special mat. Also, there are restrictions as to the surface of the table: if the table top is made of metal, you should create a 5-cm dielectric buffer between the mat and the metal surface to use the wireless system.
