The Kickstarter project has presented RainBender umbrella that is folded inside a cylinder handle made of carbon fiber. This design allows avoiding puddles and drops in public transportation and indoors. The whole mechanism was invented by the US military aircraft designer – when folded, conventional umbrellas close towards the handle rod, whereas in RainBender this process has the opposite direction.
The entire fluid, accumulated in the fabric, is not poured on the floor/clothes; instead, it is collected inside the umbrella, in a cylinder. One can dry the umbrella and drain the water at any convenient time. The first buyers to support the company can pre-order the umbrella for $50.
