Stick-on Electronic Health Monitoring Patches

Professor John A. Rogers and a group of researchers from the University of Illinois have developed a technology that became another small step towards the creation of high-tech health patches. Instead of a solid foundation, electronic components are sealed in a thin and flexible silicone frame, the plastic properties of which are similar to skin and allow the device to remain virtually invisible.

Currently the scientists are ready to show only the external application of their invention, and their immediate plan is to install biochemical sensors, offering new possibilities for monitoring the state of human health.

Eventually, this technology will move to a new level and sensors can be placed under the skin.
